Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Douglas Paul is a street photographer who has traveled to over 30 countries looking for the beauty in the chaos of everyday life—the humanity, the stories, the funny, and the rhythm. While being an artist in the areas of music and illustration, his passion for photography remains at the forefront of his artistic ventures and creative outlets. It’s like a slice of pepperoni, just gotta have it.
As a self-taught photographer (iow, a lot of youtube), Douglas has studied the greats and experimented heavily to find his own style, voice, and approach. Always open to new ideas, he continues to push himself, his concepts, and his eye to find more ways to see, interpret, and capture the world around him. His photographs aim to be more than just visuals—they are an ongoing conversation about the rhythm and humanity of city life, inviting viewers to see the streets through his unique lens: to see the funny, the weird, the surprising coming together of people and things to create an unforgettable and unrepeatable moment.
Called a “street alchemist” by his friends, Douglas aims to live up to that every time he picks up a camera. His dedication and passion have turned photography into not just an art form, but a lifelong journey of exploration and storytelling, revealing the beautiful humanity that’s all around us every moment of every day.
